How do we promote learning in Art and Design?
Art and design is taught in all year groups through at least one topic per term.
When planning, teachers make links to other curriculum areas, especially History, Geography and Science topics.
Working in this way enables the children to make links and remember what they have learnt.

"Art is fun and creative. You can do lots of things in your art book, but it’s not all about drawing. You can also do sketching and make 3D things too.” Hollie Y5
What does art and design look like at St John's?
A high-quality art and design education that engages inspires and challenges children, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design.
Our children will learn about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
